I've had some pretty deep conversations with one particular Columbian here at NG. Seems like a good place, albeit dangerous! They have incredibly cheap avocado too. :) Envious of that one thing in particular... unfortunately also a very corrupt regime and opressad people.
As for knowing who's really from where: with the days of VPN that's becoming pretty difficult indeed. You can easily steer your traffic through any one country in the world at the click of a button, or toggle location at random; stay anonymous. Useful thing to have though considering the laws were getting lately. Hopefully most countries don't ban the technology, but go to the root of their problems instead...
